Gaza power company says ‘Israel’ hampers maintenance work, bans fuel entry

Gaza’s power company said that the occupation state is happening maintenance work and banning entry of fuel into the besieged strip.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said that it deems the Israeli measures blatant and deliberate violations against human rights and international law, as they put the lives of thousands of civilians, especially children, women, and elderly people, under risk while signs of a humanitarian disaster are surfacing.

“The severe shortage of power is connected to the occupation’s inhumane measures, as well as, the increasing demand on power by all vital sectors and citizens”, the company said. “The company’s inability to provide the strip’s needs warn of an unprecedented collapse of the health system in Gaza”.

It also stressed that it suffers from a severe shortage of maintenance equipment, which would prevent it from continuing to fix thousands of problems caused by the recent Israeli aggression on the besieged overcrowded Gaza strip.

The company held the Israeli government responsible for the lives of thousands of civilians, which face the threat of death due to the collapse of the health system and sanitation sector.
