Gaza,(Alresalah.ps)—The Islamic resistance Movement of Hamas denounced claims it has intervened in the United Kingdom general elections supporting the Labor Party and its leader, Jeremy Corbyn.
Talking to Anadolu News Agency on Wednesday, Basim Naim, previous health minister said” We don't interfere in the internal affairs of any other country and we are not part of any internal conflict,"
He added: "We ask the upcoming [British] prime minister to support the rights of the Palestinian people topped by the right to return and independence,"
In response to a question that Israeli media said a Facebook support page for Corbyn was allegedly run by Hamas, Naim replied: "We affirm that Hamas does not have representatives in Britain and accusations of interfering in [UK] election and supporting Corbyn were untrue," Naim said.
Last week, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz voiced hope that Corbyn will lose the Dec. 12 polls.
"I personally hope he doesn’t get elected," he told the Israeli Army Radio.
Israeli officials accuse Corbyn of anti-Semitism, an accusation vehemently denied by the Labour leader.
