Ramallah, (Alresalah.ps)-- The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said that the representatives of the Palestinian prisoners on Wednesday reached an agreement with officials from the Israeli prison service and the intelligence apparatus.
According to the Commission, the agreement will take effect on Thursday morning and provides for the return of all hunger-striking prisoners to the jails they were transferred from.
Israeli jailers also pledged to address and reduce signals of cellphone jamming devices that affect health and radio and television frequencies.
Public telephones in jails will be available as of next Sunday and prisoners will be able to use them five days a week.
Jailers also agreed to allow Gaza prisoners to move from other jails to the Negev jail and end all punitive measures against the hunger-striking prisoners.
15 days ago, over 100 prisoners started an open-ended hunger strike to pressure Israeli jailers to respond to their demands, but they were punished by transferring them to other jails.
However, those prisoners will continue their hunger strike on Thursday to ensure that the Israeli prison service will honor its pledges and start, in particular, to address the issue of jamming devices.
