Gaza,( Alresalah.ps)— It all began when Ibrahim’s family lost everything in the first Gulf War and immigrated to Philadelphia where the young Palestinian experienced major culture shock and quickly found that he was very different from other kids in his neighborhood.
After moving to a rough area in Philly, Ibrahim constantly had to defend himself in fights, so his family decided to put him in a martial arts program when he was 10-years-old. Since then, he’s become a successful professional Mixed Martial Artist. .
He joined a school to learn Martial arts, and began to dream of being the world champion in boxing.
Quickly, Rami succeeded in learning four arts of fighting arts namely karate, wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, and fought the first match in, Muay Thai while being 12 years old.
In the high school, he joined the school's wrestling team, and he continued training till he got Philadelphia championship in wrestling for the youth award in 2000 using knockout.
Since then, Rami won more than 200 championship , mainly the championship of Philadelphia Kickboxing, the World Association of Kickboxing (WKA), starring USA Muay Thai, the United States Kickboxing (USKBA), and US Championship for Muay Thai.
In 2010, he established a gym for Marital arts after he became the first American of Palestinian origin to win titles of WKA Championship and the North American Muay Thai in one year, which made him the boxer number one in the USA.
In 2011, the World Boxing Council ranked Ibrahim as the No. 1 fighter in the United States—making him the first Palestinian to be ranked that high.
“You won’t hear anything about me.. Because I’m hated. I’m hated because I’m Palestinian and because I’m a fighter; Because I was born a fighter,” Ibrahim told Palestine in America.
Ibrahim frequently defends his identity and his connection to the sport all while dealing with the constant silencing of his accomplishments and struggles as a Palestinian fighter.
Rami is currently known in America as the owner of most famous gym of martial arts especially Muay Thai. He seeks to open other branches in more than one state in order to achieve his dream of graduating champions who can win international titles.
Ibrahim was born in 1982 in Kuwait for a committed family. He is originally from the village of Silwad, near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
